latest addition to the list:
7:50 --- 157.787 km/h -- Nissan GT-R, 480 PS/1750 kg, Horst von Saurma, partially wet track (sport auto 12/07)
Horst von Saurma, chief editor of sport auto magazine, completed about 100 kms with the new Nissan GT-R at the Nurburgring Nordschleife. Best time he achieved was a 7:50 on a partiallly wet track especially at one of the key passages so called Kesselchen.
With all the electronic aids the handling is absolutely perfect, the driver doens´t feel how the drive-by-wire system really works as the GT-R stay on track like on rails, always has grip, doesn´t lose control, higly computerized and a perfect racer for the street. A time less than 7:40 is pretty much optimistic, 7:50 shows the true potential of the car. And when the price stays at the announced level, it is a real bargain.

this is just from SPORT AUTO ARTICLE. http://www.sportauto-online.de/test_U_technik/fahrberichte/hxcms_article_508540_14469.hbs
it was noted they had LIMITED time behind the GT-R, and with the short time, they recived this time. its said they got this time on the first lap, meaning thats pritty good for the first lap on a rainy track.
The 7:38 was done by nissan. they had more laps in the car. more time to drive the car on the track. the 7:38 was done using a production spec GT-R! nissan says that there has not been a driver able to fully utilize the full capabilities of the nissan GT-R yet, that it still has alot of performance in it. also they stated a better time could easliy be accomplished with differnt tires, but they didnt want to run the gt-r other than the stock tires.

As quick as it is, you cant help but think how much better it would have been if it was lighter if not the same weight as the R34 GTR. Stupid Euro market.

That's what all the special editions/tuner cars will be about. I can't fault them for having all kinds of posh BS in it since that's what will allow them to sell tons, hence drive the overall price of the car down, and allow them to have a viable model to make the hardcore versions off of.

I'd imagine your average enthusiast would not be able to land a 7:38. Keep in mind that along with alot of posted 'Ring times I'm sure are done with a professional racer, not your average Joe.
"I firmly believe that anyone who is worth anything at all should own a twelve cylinder car before they die, because there's nothing else like it. Quote from Spyder757 When its all said and done it's going to be something like 7:4X
Those low 7:30s were nothing but Nissan fanboi wishful thinking
It's not a CGT killer, sorry guys
This was on a 'partially wet track' Considering how long the Ring is, it's not unrealistic to believe that ten seconds could be shaved off the time. And about CGT killer? For the price this it's already a winner. So what if it takes the CGT a couple seconds quicker to do 28km? And before you think this is a 'Nissan fanboi' comment, I love the CGT.

As long as it kills the Z06 then it's cool. And it does.

Well, to be fair.
Horst von Sauma did the Z06 on a dry track in 7:49. So for the same driver to do a 7:50 with wet patches on the track amounts to it being pretty fast.

Unless somebody decides to run the z06 and the GTR on the same day on the same tires, then you people just need to SHUT THE FuCK UP!
In Chinese, the symbol for crisis is the same as opportunity. I haven't looked that up, but I heard it from a man so it's probably true because us men have something called integrity.
