 here it is, the long awaited sport auto Supertest of the Mercedes CLK 63 AMG Black Series:

 with 8:05 mins at the Nurburgring Nordschelife it is as fats as the BMW M3 E92 sedan, the Porsche 997 Carrera S or the Audi RS4

handling is perfect, no understeer, no oversteer even though the high weight, with some shorter gear ratios, it woould be able to be fatser than 8 mins.


with 1:13.8 mins. at the Hockenheim short track it is slighly fatser than the M3 E93 sedan,even faster than the Ford GT but not as fast as the F430

very agile, good traction, lot of grip even though the enormous torque at poer at the wheels, no suddne oversteer, no fading, again a perfect handling and some stable brakes


0-200-0 km/h in 19.7 secs., nearly as quick as the Gallardo SL and again slightly quicker than the M3 E93 sedan thanks to the enormus power and torque always being available at the wheels


7 kg uplift at front and 35 kg downforce at the rear at 200 km/h with the optional aero kit, costs 7,000 EUR, it is suggested to fit the raer wing and front splitter to keep the aerodynamic balance


1.25g max. lateral acceleration with the serial Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres, same as the M3 E93 sedan or the Audi RS4, pretty good traction and the tyres working perfect even though the weight of 1745 kgs

which is as fast as the 996 GT2 (139 km/h), M3 E93 sedan (138 km/h) or the Galalrdo SL (136 km/h)

the CLK 63 AMG Black Series is much sportier and agaile as the basic CLK 632 AMG, a true super sports car with jsut some little oversteer, abslolutey perfect handling, feles very save


110m evasion test at 148 km/h which is as fast as the Ruf Rt12, Audi RS4 or BMW M3 E92 sedan

very dnynamic, very safe, perfect 10


wet handling track in 1:33.2 mins., as fast the M§ E93, Corvette Z06, V8 Vnaatge or Koenisgegg CCR

the Pirellei P Zero Corsa tyres show some aquaplanning, even though it is easy to control, no sudden overtaking of the rear


verdict: 65/85 pts.

the CLK 63 AMG is the best way to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the AMG brand, a perfect daily driver and a perfect super sports car with a alway very powerful engine, a lot of pors but no cons (excpet of the sports tyres) and the high price

I'm thinking DTM for the street. It seems to have the hardware required for continous lapping. Even though it falls short of its benchmark (GT3) for steering and braking, its overall balance is still quite good. And that epic motor adds another dimension to its appeal. The very limited market it is aimed at isn't going to miss the rear seats. They already know what they're getting into.
It's partly to celebrate AMG's 40th anniversary too.
