The 430 time really isn't very impressive considering the specs. It could just be because most of the better times are set by German cars which were able to take advantage of the N-ring during development since it IS in their country. My guess is that this gives German cars somewhat of an unfair advantage. Regarding the Best Motoring videos, they are fun to watch and give you some idea of performance differences between cars BUT they are not good indicators of how a car will do at the N-ring. The Japanese cars tend to have lower power and are therefore not at a disadvantage in the small track that they use. The German and Italian cars have "wasted" horsepower on the Japanese circuit since they can hardly apply it. If Germans and Italians wanted their cars to do better on the circuit Best Motoring uses, they would change their gearing for a lower top speed and reduce their engine size to save weight. I prefer the N-ring as it seems to cover a broader spectrum of a car's abilities.

The Hockenheim time was impressive, the 'Ring time was dissapointing IMO.
