I love it. Each of the Hyabusa engines makes 500 hp... could you imagine if the engine was still in (on?) the motorcycle?? Yikes!

The funny thing is with only one engine it should accelerate like a Veyron.

Gearing?
Stock hayabusas topped out at 187 mph. I'm not sure if that was rev limited, or drag limited, but either way, that might tell us that the gearing is good for only about 180-190. I'm not sure if the guys running 190-250+ mph had different gearing or not.

Edit: Maybe their test track only allowed for a short run. I wouldn't report a top speed I didn't achieve. They might be looking for a longer track at this moment. *shrug*

That thing must be an absolute #%!@ to gear properly. The power curve I can't imagine being too great, and the only way to really counter that in off-the-line performance would be with a 2-step rev limiter.

Still, I expect to hear insane performance numbers from this thing.

Well the top speed limitation is a gentlemans agreement between manufacturers in Japan, that every bike would top out at 187 due to gearing. But still, if you have 2 of them I would still think it would be a bit higher that 187. Maybe not.

The original Hayabusas were not limited. I forget how fast they went though. I guess some 205+ mph.

Edit: 218 mph?

The AWD is sweet, but two engines... I would think more of it if it had a single engine and AWD, more practicle and repeatable and whatnot. But the RWD Ultimas are still uber awesome.

they basically cut 10km off the top speed. what was the big deal with those extra 10? ie., why was it disallowed?
