 There is a misconception of the FXX.....

It is used for F1 technological research in road going vehicles (probably for the next high end ferrari), not just flat out racing...

The MC12 Corsa got a 1:11 around Fiorano to the FXX Evo's 1:16....

Just because it isn't street legal, and has 860 hp with more downforce doesn't make it as fast around the track as people think.....

 OOO! I'm a total Ultima fanboy, but how can you not be? In terms of performance, it's the greatest kit car ever made. It clocked a 1:12 awhile ago but this is just insane.

For comparison:

Renault R24 F1 car (damp track): 0:59.0
Aston Martin DBR9 GT1 car: 1:08.6
ULTIMA GTR 720: 1:09.9
Caparo T1: 1:10.6
Ferrari FXX: 1:10.7
Gumpert Apollo Sport (fastest "official" laptime): 1:17.1

I want a 'Ring time soooooooo bad! What do you think? Sub-7 minutes?

I don't know why It shouldn't be....

But I've seen people argue that this is faster than the Zonda R, and MC12 Corsa, when they are unrestricted GT1 racers, and this is only a second faster around Fiorano than a F360 GT2....

A GT2 car will be MUCH faster around a track than something like an Enzo or CGT
lsiten guy, i may not know where london is or what 34+45 is or what a panda bear eats but i do #$%#ing know what cars is what. i have over 100k psots on a friggen car site ok? i know ferrari enzos and i know bmw means bavarian motor works and that Mercedes-benz means "fast and cool" in latin and i msot def know waht a effing porsche looks like. thats why i jsut brush aside your "Facts" becasue im the expert here and i know my stuff.

you said it yourself, "it is used for F1 technological research" you dummie, the FXX IS for flatout racing, why do you think the FXX owners don't store the cars at home in private garages? Ferrari has them because you can't start them without proper computer software, oil has to be pre-heated like an F1 car, all the work has to be performed by an extremely knowledgeable technician. Don't get all butthurt and try to say the FXX isn't a racecar because it got beaten around a track by the little Ultima

okay well, read my post again. i am saying you can not drive the FXX unless its on a track, the only road legal version is EDO competition's and that's a one off that really stretched the limits. so, stop denying the fact that the Ultima, can be driven on and off the street and beat the FXX. I love both cars, you just have to realise that they have entirely different concepts behind them. so you have to ask yourself what technology is going to be employed in the next ferrari models from the FXX that already isn't on their cars? not too much, you know why, because it's a full race car.

 Ferrari should be embarrased...there's no denying that

And as for running this test on a longer/faster track, I think that would only extend the Ultima's advantage. The Ferrari had no trouble putting its power down on the TG track. Perhaps it wasn't "set up" for this track, but that's no excuse.

I think it's just the slower car.

Is this a troll? lol I'm not good on picking up on stuff like this.

I never denied anything.

All I stated was that there was a misconception as to how fast around the track the FXX is.

The FXX came out in 2005, and if I'm not mistaken, every car Ferrari has came out with after that date has possessed better systems similar to those used in the FXX.

And what does any of that have to do with it being a race car? I never said it wasn't one.

I like both cars as well, but the fact is that the FXX's purpose isn't solely to race, because if that where the case, then they'd have some in competition. It's a track day car to have fun with.

You could say the same about the Zonda R, but I don't think it'd be hard to make one comply with FIA regulations to race, and be on par (maybe better I want to believe) with everything else in it's class.

no it's not, the fxx isnt a race car, it is comfortable and road usable, really, they are just trying different settings and options to see what people likes and what goes well and what goes wrong, it isnt road legal because ferrari doesnt want to, but its far from being a race car, only "race" part of the car, is engine.
Did I mention the 340hp V8?
