This car is fittet not with a Lotus Engine, but a Coventry Climax engine! In racing they often have 135-145 bhp in these cars! And trust me, they run great. It's a real screamer!

Its a Lotus, what else has to be said. High power to weight ratio goes hand in hand with the Lotus brand.

I think my car would kick this cars ass. It is 0-60 in 8.0 flat. Smoke this car. My car would be faster, but it is 100% stock.

Well this car may not seem like anything all too special now, but back in those days it was the sh*t. I personaly am a big fan of Lotus cars, and this one is a fine example of a race bred vehicle =)

It is what a sports car is all about, especially a british one. Kind of like my dad's MGB, which just about any car could "smoke". But it's still in the top five cars for fun factor that I've ever ridden in. And these Elites handle brilliantly as well.

I think I've see one of these passing me on the high way once, nice car, one I wouldn't mind getting passed by.
If you can't fix it... use a bigger hammer.

I bet you could throw that thing into the corners! Put a lip spoiler (I dunno if that is what it is called, but you get the picture)on the back to add some downforce, combine that with the 88.2 inch wheelbase and some slighty wider tires, and you'd have a great car with amazing handling.
Go read a book...

If this car had needed a lip spoiler or anything else I think Collin Chapman had put it on! Collin Chapman the Lotus founder was a genius! No other carproducer/designer can messure themselves with him!
People that says that this is a slow car (0-60 in 11,8 sec), don't know what they talk about! Just try and face it in a race!!!

What the hell is this. I own a 64' Jaguar e-type and a '67... and this basicly looks exactly the same, only mine have a v12 and a v8... what the hell is this lotus with a inline 4 trying to pull.. i can almost assure you it doesn't come close to touching the handling that mine have.. and it definitely can't touch mine in any race.. so basicly Lotus messed this one up.
1999 MTM Audi S4
2001 VW Passat
2000 Yukon Denali
1964 E-type Jag Roadster
1967 E-type Jag Coupe

That's right, MTM Audi S4, 400 hp at the quattro wheels... oohhhh baby.
European cars rule all. Denali and Escalade used to rule the trucks, but Cayenne, Tourag, and Pikes Peak have won that right too.
I understand why the German's are trying to unload Chrysler.

3 words about your Jaguars; newer, bigger engines. So what do you expect? I'm sure yours are great cars though. Jag has alwasy been a great maker, right along side Lotus. I would bet that the handling is just as good - the 2 makers seemed pretty evenly matched by racing stats from that time period.

I don't think anyone who actually owns two wonderful classics in the form of E-types would make such a retarted comment, I totally agree with the Lotus fan guy, Colin Chapman was a total genius, who else would have though of putting two chassis on one car like he did in F1 ?
