The Maserati is more strong , lighter and cheaper. Not so bad as some say.

Whit out any doubt it is better! The 735i of the same period it is also so common and annoying that as well as mercedes is going to be (better to said it is already!) the car for the Gipsy. But beside it is to heavy and not competitive as acceleration and handling.

This is a weird comparison. The 7 Series is a five seater limousine, the Maserati a two by two coupe.
Not only is the Seven a larger, heavier car, but the engines and chassis were totally different in character to this Italian.
Judge a car from behind the wheel, not by the spec sheet. There is more to handling than pulling 'g' on a skidpan.
