McLaren used Chevrolet engines in their Can-Am cars in the 1960s and 1970s.

McLaren is not the only supercarmake that have used a Chevroletmotor.
I Have and Chevrolet Corvette Stingway from 1964, and i love it, she is my baby. When i have a lot mooney, i will buy a Callaway C12 With a V8-motor, from Chevrolet. If i one day have a very lot of money, i will buy a McLaren F1, that is so great.

I saw in a magazine that a McLaren car of that period in Canam once qualified with a 9.2L Chevy engine.
Friends say that I've always got a smile on my face.

You are funny
"We think we could get 1000bhp out of this engine, revving to 9500 or 10,000. You'd probably then be able to do 250-255mph, but it would be hard to meet the required emission standards, in order to be able to homologate such an engine."
Gordon Murray about the Mclaren F1

"The 787B was reported to have a redline around 9000rpm. However, interviews with Mazda's 787B race engineers revealed that the power of the quad-rotor increased dramatically above 9000rpm. One engineer stated that the car could develop more than 930hp with a redline around 10500rpm. They also discovered that all aspects of the engine were still in excellent condition and could have run another 24-hour race"

Hey, nothing wrong with the LT1 small block? Nothing from what I know. Plus, who cares if a car uses a Chevy motor? So does Marcos. This car's performance was hella great in its day and I don't see what should degrade it.
