In 1933, $10,000 would buy a very large Mansion. The average worker was making no more than $5 a week, and even this car was 3 times more than anything else Pierce offered. There was one for sale in Pebble Beach this summer (I saw it, pictures can't even describe the car in it entirety) with a 'suggested' price of $1.1 million, down for previous year b/c of the bearish markets.

but if the car was worth $10000 back in 1933, wasn't that really much more than $10000 dollars today...??? I dunno...

If it's so rare and beautiful it is sure worth the money.

I saw a Pierce Arrow on display at a company that rents out exotic cars. They said it was worth more than their entire inventory combined: 1) 6 Lamborghinis, including 1 Diablo, 1 LM002, and 2 Countaches 2) 1 Ferrari 550 Maranello 3) 2 Rolls Royces 4) 1 Bentley 5) 4 Assorted Porsches
