Back in the 90's when there were a lot of GT1 Class cars racing at Le Mans (Toyota, McLaren, Nissan) the ACO required that the manufacturers build ONE road-legal version of their racers. Even if this Toyota GT1 Roadcar was commissioned to be street legal, Toyota will never allow it to see the street.

this is an amazing car. in gran turismo 4 if you tune it the right way it will acctually reach 300+ mph its unbelievable!

LMFAO, i'd like to see a streetlegal car get to within two hours of this gt one after 24 hours of non-stop racing. BTW, won't happen cause ur gonna need full slicks to even come close. Understand that this made a lap RECORD at lemans. That included the porsche 956's, 962's, mclaren gtr's, etc. This thing rapes, accidents are the only things that held it back.

The GT1 road car would probably slaughter just about any street legal road car on a track from what little i know, it is BEAST on the track. Wide, low, light, aerodymanic, lots of downforce and 600hp. Only problem is the inside looks very cramped and uncomfortable. Like a small one man bunker. I also like how it looks (except the tail lights)

1971 Jackie Oliver Porsche 917LH Circuit de la Sarthe best lap average speed 244.387km/h lap time 3:18.4 longer track.
1985 Jacky Ichx Rothmans Porsche 962 best lap average speed 239.169km/h lap time 3:25.10 course was also longer
there's about four more with better lap times so how can you say the toyota has the all time best lap time...simple it does not.The 962 is street legal so are a few the others.Rant over
