Bentley cannot win Le Mans with a LMP GTP car they must go to the top and join the Audis category. The Bentley only has a chance to win if it can last but i dont see Audi breaking down during the race. Bentley must go open topped if they want to win.

The difference is miniscule. The closed top cars run slightly narrower rubber, and have some air restriction. Porsche GT1 McLaren F1 Daur LeMans... These are all closed cars that have won.

This is the closed top audi entry.

Closed or open, it doesn't matter you get the same satisfaction winning outright either way, you don't think the Corvette C5-R boys wouldn't be jumping for joy if they won le mans?

You know the xjr thing on your post said to me?:

The XJR15 is not a race car, it was the prototype for the XJ220, they decided to make a V-6 instead of a V-12 because of space issues- notice the XJR is much longer than the XJ

The XJR 15 has never been the proto of the XJ220.

The XJR15 was presented by Walkingshow to Jag , he wanted it to be their supercar , but Jag decided to make by themselves their supercar.
The V6 twinturbo was chosen because of emissions problems , the V12 couldn't pass the emission rules required for the homologation.
(The proto of the XJ220 had the race V12).

The XJ220 was a V12 origionally, but it was much longer and heavier so instead they put a 3.5 V6 in, the XJR15 is a race car, it is like the racing version of the XJ220.

The race version of the XJ 220 was the XJ220 C.
Only 10 have been produced.

Yes the closed top prototypes are the fastest but back then they could have V12s now they use V8 turbos.

And any way the Jaguar XJR 9lm was the best jaguar racer of all time

They can still use V12's

Only thin gis, the way the regulations have evolved, the turbo-V* now has the advantage. Similar power output, but shorter block, better packaging.

The V12 for the XJ220 was scrapped by Ford.
I believe it is a Ford V6 under there.

The recent wins have all been LMP-900 because, again, that's how the regulations have evolved.
GTP gets bigger restrictors, but gets skinny tires.
LMP gets smaller restricotrs, but fat tires.

I'm sure they try to keep it balanced, NA vs Turbo, GTP vs LMP. But one will always be superior under a given set of rules.

Dear Santa
I've been very good this year.
All I want is an XJ220, a Dauer 962, a Zonda C12S, an S7, a CC, and an F1 LM. Oh yeah, and a 1957 Mercedes 300SL Gullwing.
