you also have to have the rev's through the roof to get all the power out of the rsx.

so your saying we should add a second or two to all the times of car stats because we could never accelerate a car correctly?

im just saying that most street racers wouldnt be able to post times like those posted by the pro's, and if these cars were raced by streetracers, it would be a driver's race, these cars all have their distinct advantages over each other

i.e.
celica - light and decent hp
RSX-S - alright weight and high hp
sentra - light good torque good hp (my pick as the winner between the 4)
tiburon - also good torque and hp but heavy

The new Hyundai Tiburon has a very agressive design, but for a V6, I think it lacks power, and compared to de SpecV, never man. The SpecV has very descent power for its buck!

I mean the RSX Type S is a nice car and all. But for what your getting for the money I would want just a tad bit more. I mean your getting just as good of performance out of the Spec V and you can get a fully loaded one for less then a stock Type S. I mean would you want to have no options vs. fully loaded? The only options that come on a Spec V are the Rockford Fosgate Audio Fanatic package with a 7 disk CD changer, ABS, side impacts airbags, and moonroof. And you can get all that for high 18's low 19's vs. The Type S which I am not 100% sure what they are going for but they are definatly not in that kinda price range. And also they are geared to the same people as well. Acura has always appealed to people with more money to waste to get the name plate. Just as people by Ferrari's and Lambo's just to putt around in because they don't care about how fast or slow it is they just want the name. And that is the only reason why people would pick the RSX Type S over a Spec V because its not as much money and its a Nissan not an Acura. If they were to make an Infiniti Spec V or something at abou tthe same price range as the RSX Type S then I'm sure then there would be battles between them more often and also in the magazines. Thats why in the magazines a few months ago when they had the Tiburon, Spec V, Focus SVT, and Civic Si not once in any magazine did you see them throw in a RSX or a Type S because they are not in the same league or geared towards the same people. The Spec V is geared towards the more younger crowd such as myself because I can actually afford this car unlike an RSX. And besides the fact I think the Spec V looks better in every way shape in form compared to the RSX.

have you heard the 2002 celica is going to have an earlier fuel cutoff and i think will have its revs decreased! this is truly sad.

That's really sad!!! Cuz the celica has power at high rpm!!

10 cars that I THINK are good( not in order): Honda NSX, Chevrolet Corvette, Honda Civic, Honda Accord, Honda S2000, Nissan Skyline GT-R, Honda Dualnote, Honda Odessy, Honda Integra, Acura TL.

10 cars that I think are bad: Chevy Camaro, Pontiac Firebird, Pontiac Sunfire, Dodge Viper, Ford Mustang, Chevy Malibu, Chevy Cavalier, Ford Escort, Toyota MR-2 (SW20), Dodge Neon.

The Hyundai Tiburon is a decent little car. As for the interior I don't like it at all. I test drove one about a week ago now and it was so-so on its acceleration but my Spec V would have ran circles aorund the Tiburon. I had the chance to actually race a GT-S with a decent driver and we were neck and neck but once I hit 4th I was creeping away by the time I hit 6th I was about a car length and a half ahead of him. I've only raced the RSX non type S because I wouldn't bother wasting my time with a Type S because I know it would beat me no prob. But I spanked the RSX no prob. And as for the hyundai beating out the ITR, and whatever the other car was were you reading a Hyundai enthusiats magazine? Because the Tiburon is no match for those cars it came in dead last in all the specs when they comapred it too the new Si, SVT Focus, and Spec V. Out of those 4 the Spec V won every performance catagory out of the 4 which I liked but the car that gave the Tiburon a run for its money was the Si. but those 2 cars came in dead last in like every catagory as well.

The Celica is slow, 0-60 in 7.4 sec. One funny fact, the GT-S's engine is built by Yamaha, that's why it's revvy. Sentra Spev V will beat RSX no pro, since is has more torque and hp. But not the Type S and Type R.

haahah that is the funniest shit i have ever heard, are you out of your god damned mind sir? How does the tiburon out perform the integra type R? are you all there in the head? The old tiburon's 0-60 is 8.3 seconds and the new is 7.4 (for the v-6). The integra type r is 6.1. Integra type R had 195 BHP the old tiburon had 140, and the new V-6 has 180. the integra type R also had more torque, better top speed, better handling. Now maybe the tiburon whooped on the celica, because it is a true R!cer, all show and no GO. But to say that tiburon even came CLOSE to the type R or even to this RSX type S is seriously ludacris, you need some sleep bro

I would pick the Tiburon an aussie car magazine compared the celica and the integra type R against the Tiburona and the Hyundai came out on top it does guzzle the fuel though.

You can't say that the RSX-S has "shit acceleration" from only driving it. It's a characteristic of Honda engines to have little torque, and especially in the RSX-S case.. power delivery is very smooth and linear. It'll run a quarter mile about the same as say.. a WRX. But you'll FEEL the G's MUCH more in the WRX since power is delivered to pin you down to your seat compared to the Honda.

Despite that..

I own an ITR here in Australia.. and even i would rather a WRX over the RSX-S.

yeah id prefer a wrx sti over all of these, even the non sti wrx would do wonderfully, but the wrx wasnt one of the 4 participants in this comptetition

Well first off thats not true. Its one of the most expensive out of these. I own a Spec V and the Spec V is not a disappointment. It is the best bang for the buck by far compared to the rest fo the cars in its class and compared to these three cars. Its already proven that the Hyundai is the slowest out of all three of these while the Spec V is the fastest in its group while being the least expensive out of these three cars. So in other words the Spec V is the best bang for the buck and I am quite happy with my little pocket rocket. Oh and the best part is its a 4 door and it still smokes both of these cars away and they're only 2 doors

Not for RSX, the I-VTEC makes a lot of low-end torque.

I don't like honda engines and I actually drove an RSX Type-S myself. Handling was good, but acceleration wasn't worth shit.

I've been driving nissans for a couple of years now and they truly are the best. My latest is a 2000 Maxima SE and it's a great car. The handling is good, Nissan's V6 (q90) is awesome, 260hp, and it does get its power at lower-rev.

Infiniti's (nissan) are the best, I'm soon getting a G35, and that my friends will be one hell of a ride

Among the vast underground world of street racers the man in the Viper is king, especially the man with the words "Twin Turbo" displayed on his machine's hood.

obviously u havent researched your cars... its a V6 engine only giving 181 hp.... and it has one of the slowest 0-60 time in the 7-8's...

i would choose the celica gts.. i personally prefer quality toyota engines over hondas

in a race i'd pick the sentra ser, i remember reading somewhere that the rsx-s only has a 6hp advantage over the gt-s celica when you look at the hp AT THE WHEELS (celica 162 hp, rsx-s 168, tiburon v6 144 or something like that), true that the rsx-s has more torque, but is about 200 lbs heavier, so i beleive it is a drivers race between the two cars. the tiburon tipped the scales at about 3100 lbs i beleive. if i can find the links again, i'll post them....peace

You just don't look at the hp rating, u look at the actual stats. RSX-S: 6.7, celica GTS: 7.4, Tiburon: 7, Sentra Spev V: 6.9.

dude, it is most likely that no street racer is gonna get those times(a few might be able to get close),but times were posted by professional drivers pushing those cars to the limits, it is still a driver's race since all cars are closely matched. my two cents...peace

It's not very to accelerate to the limit, it's not like this is a f-1 car, or a lemans car. This is a driver's car.
