The Lamborghini Muira was the first true Supercar. It's mid-engine design and exotic styling led the way. Ferrari was building front engine GT's when this was made.

Crap? No you must be thinking of some GM model... This is a Lamborghini we're talking about here. Not some domestic junk.

actually, until recently (audi) lambo had no Q.C. at all, and what most people consider the first "supercar" is the countach, it's wild styling and sick performance set off other manufacturers to design cars like it.

no wonder you are banned..you obviously think that your little AMC Gremlin could whoop this Miura's ass, or you do not appreciate beautiful early supercars such as this....one of the first supercars and still a supercar today...very beautiful machine!

No, the Muira is considered the first true 'supercar'. People just think of the Countach when they here "Supercar" because it was much widely known.

And it was the Muira that convinved Ferrari to try a mid-engined road car, Muira however, was the first mid-engined road car (That is DESIGNED for the road).

Yep, the Miura is such a great car. I so wish I could have one.

This certainly is a Lamborghini for the history books. Too bad they only made one.

Actually, the Ferrari 246 GT Dino was the first road-going mid-engined sports car, and that was first designed in the mid-50s by Enzo's son, Dino, just before he died, hence the name. However, the Miura was the first to receive significant attention, and was far more successful than the 246 ever was. I saw this car at the Greenwich Concours, not knowing at the time that it was the only one, and it is quite nice, although I preferred the red 1995 F512M sitting next to it.

Um...you sure about that? Remember Chrysler? And the Swiss brothers? I recall that the Miura was considered the first original supercar.
