Not only does the SLR cost over twice as much, but it's not really any faster. The first road test I read of the F430 said 0-60 in 3.5 seconds (which is 0.1 seconds faster than the SLR), and the quarter mile in 11.7 sec (0.1 slower than the SLR). The F430 would probably crush an SLR around most racetracks due to its weight advantage.

basically the F430 is better than the SLR and im sure many and i mean many agree on that one.The F430 not only looks better but the SLR doesnt have that italian flair that the F430 posseses

its a bloody ferrari, who cares? its sexy, Ferrari has a good history,they have a sweet sound, and they got alot of power besides, when are u really gonna need to go 250km/h?

The F430 is an amazingly fast car. Being the entry level model of Ferrari and still being able to waste an F40 and F50 means its a world class supercar, right up there with the SLR. Same class. Top speed is not that far apart, 197 and 211, especially since the F430 has an immediate view of the road combined with sensational engine music and stability at that speed. At 211, or probably even 197, the SLR's huge ass nose makes things a little more difficult and is one factor that makes the SLR look worse than the F430. I would pick the Ferrari over the SLR any day.

The SLR price is so much higher.With the money you would save get Novitec to tune your 430 and it will spank the SLR in any department you want....and still cost less.

f430 is the greatest car created by mankind its half the price of SLR and better technology. if you were a four year old you would already know that the f430 could fly. and buy the way why compare a SLR to F430 they arent in the same class of supercars

the f430 and slr should never be compared. its like comparing a bugatti to a koenigsegg. they are both incredibly fast, but one it much more money, and for that money you get better performance, but much more luxury. the slr has a higher price tag, but it is also more luxurious and more powerful. they are not in the same class. if anything, the 599 might be comparable based on similar power and the layout of front engine rwd. but even then, im assuming the right of the merc is more luxurious. but give me a ferrari any day, too much history and passion to turn down
