It's quite cheap, actually. Somewhere between $30k-35k. If you think it's expensive, then don't buy it. If it doesn't cater to your needs or wants, then just let it for the thousands of other people who would buy this.

U mean like the Touareg, an expensive VW that sells like hotcakes!!! And i've heard rumours of a sub-$30,000 price tag. As for performance, there is supposed to be a new R32 model coming, and the 3.2 V6 now has 188kw!!!
umm...ok then...(???)

Last I herd, the new GTI will be the first of the new Golf-Based cars to make it to the states. Not that it is dissapointing, but I am worried about how good the car is if it has not been very well accepted in Europe.

And if this is between $30 and $35K, this is way above it's price point. Current GTIs are just a few ticks over $20K, but seriously underperform it's competition. The R32 is an awsome car, but it isnt worth the $36K at the dealership...Espically when it is being outrun by $19,990 Neon SRT-4s.

The next generation R32 will be called an R36... The VR6's displacement is supposed to go up a bit, and it will finially be available with the DSG transmission.

OHV vs OHC? I'll stick with my good ol small-block OHV Chevy engines. They make more torque, & cost/weigh less. Long live the gen-IV small-block!

Actually, there's probably going to be an R32 and an R36, but the R36 is delayed because they needed to beef up the tranny.
