All i can say is that Jeremy Clarkson drove one from around Turin in Italy, all the way through Switzerland, France and into London, and there was only one filmed fuel stop. I know this isn't really hard evidence in any sense of the word, but i do know that Top Gear often makes a point of pointing out if a car has terrible economy compared to it's class (they did for the Ford GT for example) Still, it is fact that the Bugatti's economy at lower speeds isn't nearly as bad as when it's at top whack!
umm...ok then...(???)

I hate this car. Just a personal opinion though even though it is quite possibly, and probably is the best car earth has seen. Just doesn't make my day like a McLaren F1.

The veyron is rated at about 9MPG
The McLaren F1 LM is rated at about 6MPG

the veyron gets bad gas mileage, but there is worse.

Uhh...no, the Veyron gets 10mpg/hwy, whereas the McLaren gets 16mpg/hwy.

i hate the bugatti veyron because its weight is too heavier and for compare a veyron do 7:40 in the nurburgring while the porsche carrera gt do it in only 7:28 with a smaller motor i say that the veyron is not a sport car

I really agree with Lotuslover7 I really don't like the Veyron. I think it is really a car that cheated it's way to the top. It dosent have that racing soul that an Ultima or a Lotec has. It was and still is a production exercise; a way of making the fastest car on earth and therefore making the most money. Its despicable.

The Bugatti Veyron is the finest piece of engineering and design since the McLaren F1. The fact that it can do so much without sacrificing any comfort or amenities is astounding. F#$@ all who think it sucks. Clearly you have no idea what youre talking about and your overall knowledge about automobiles is crap.

No. YOU get your facts straight. This car could be SO MUCH MORE if the designer's were building a SUPERCAR!!! But, the fact remains, that this is not a supercar, it is a luxury car with an obscene amount of horsepower beneath the hood. Speaking of which, getting 1001hp is NOTHING out of a W-16 and 4 turbo's, when you can get even more out of a supra, which has an inline six, I believe. Do not compare this car to a McLaren F1, they are two COMPLETELY different categories. THINK about what a car was intended to do BEFORE you post something so ignorant.
Weight is the enemy of performance, pure and simple. Not just handling, but just about every aspect of performance aside from maybe top speed
