Ferrari has become like Mugen to Honda. Lots of lil addon accessories, thats rediculously overpriced, with minimal gains, and lots of rice "go-fast-bits", a term I use lightly.
It's factory rice at its finest.
So Ferrari, I ask of you this, when can we expect to see the neons?

Are you kidding? How does shaving weight, making the tranny shift faster and adding power 1) equate to "rice" and 2) equate to "minimal gains". Food for thought: the last Challenge Stradale model shaved 243 pounds from the stock 360, which resulted in a car that is more than TEN SECONDS faster around the 'ring than the standard car. I think everyone would agree that is a definate gain. The front has been changed for downforce, not looks. The same thought process goes for the rear diffusers. Notice how this (and most other Ferrari's) have no wing but a 911, Esprit, NSX... does? This is the reason for the diffusers, not just to be "addon accesories" or "go-fast-bits." What Ferrari, Porsche, BMW and now Lambo are doing is creating a line of models specifically designed for track use, having nothing at all to do with the line of Mugen accessories soon to be offered by Honda (completely aimed at teenagers who probably have no idea what Mugen is.) Remember, Mugen is the same company that is responsible for designing and building each one of Honda's F1 engines. Accessories are one thing, but race programs for the road should not be knocked on until you figure out what you are talking about.
P.S. I can't wait to see what clarkson has to say about this one

You're a mental defective. Yes, it's not the prettiest thing to come out of Maranello, but it's not rice. The enhancements are purely for performance, and this thing will perform.
I think after S8 is must be not easy to drive some right hand drive manual supercar, full with manometers inside

There have been quite a few times where i've been tempted to create an account (as i just did) and reply like 02E46 did. The amount of ignorance on this board is horrendous. I'm not claiming to be a supercar messiah, or some knowledge freak, but I dont talk out my ass when I dont know what im talking about.
Quite frankly, everytime I look up a car on here, the forum posts right beside the pictures / information are normally - "The z06 would smoke this!" or "This car always loses to this!" or even worse "BRAND SUCKS so this car must too" ... most have been removed (thank god) but the sheer amount of stupidity and the ricer crowd posting how their modded cars can beat supercars to 60mph keeps most people from registering and commenting.
But every once in a while, a post is worth commenting on, like when someone claims Ferrari, one of the most honored and celebrated car manufacturers in the world, is "Ricing" out their cars.
And maybe I got lost reading it, but what did they do to up the engine from 490hp to 510 ??

Essentially Ferrari have created a Mugen based Honda.
Lighter, faster, "go-fast-bits" added, and carbon fibre accessories. To the average Honda fanboy, Mugen is what alot of them look up to - factory performance with a touch of rice. This car is the same.
Put it this way.
Mugen also shaves weight. Mugen also makes their cars perfrom better with updated suspension components to lap faster at race tracks. Mugen adds its own lips for downforce. Diffusers? SO what? J's Racing, Top Secret, Feels Twin Cam - a Honda based company also make diffusers for their track orientated cars. YOu can buy these parts and add them to your Mugenised car.
Remember, Mugen and Honda utilise Honda F1 techology, much the same as how Ferrari utilises F1 technology, all be it on a much larger and costly scale.
Essentially, they are the same company, utilising the same F1 technology, with the same ideas and parts, just on a much more costly scale.
Yet, why is a Mugen car considered rice, while a Ferrari is not? Hence the topic title, Rich Boy's Rice.
I'm not stupid, I used to run 1 of the worlds largest car websites. If you're smart you just may figure out which one by viewing my sig....

haha, I love SCNET indie newbs.
Italians are filthy, and I'd never work for Ferrari. Their lack of beautiful design in the past 6 years is astonishing.
Bring back the Ferrari of old. Beautiful designs, elegant name, high craftmanship, ground breaking engineering, and a car that turned heads - not an ugly F430, now with uglier rice components designed by a Jap with squinty eyes, that makes you look away because you can't believe what the once great Italian car manufacturer has turned into.

The "This vs. Z06" times are long over but it still makes a good joke! And I have not seen many ricers on this board. Anyway, comparing cars is good fun and I count myself to those who do not know much so I won't blame anyone (except for really retarded comments). wow, dumber than first imagined.
You don't buy an S2000 for its straight line power. It has none until 4k.Mountain runs and track days are where the fun is at.
And if real tuners don't use convertibles, I think 9FF boss, Jan Fatthauer would say otherwise. Do you know who he is? Have you even heard of 9ff?

hahaha, well for starters YES I have been frustrated with SCNET posters for a while but when someone insults Ferrari racing, all bets are off. I'm glad im not the only one though.
Heres the thing...Mugen does A LOT for marketing purposes as well, Ferrari could give two shits. They didn't make this car for marketing, they made it for a dam track. And if you really know as much as you say, then why in hell are you comparing Mugen lips or aftermarket aero to Ferrari's aero. I'm an engineer..any clue to the different in wind tunnel time here?? Do you realize Ferrari spends more on wind tunnel testing then Honda on the entire S2000 line?? One more thing, Honda and Ferrari are as similar as paper and plastic. Ferrari has dominated F1 racing for years, while Honda had one breif stint in the late 80's/early 90's and now are back to being pathetic. Honda is a good company, but they will never even compare to Ferrari. If you want to see rice, look at the new S2000 CR.
The comments about God and the 430 are hilarious

I don't know why this post even exists. Every single person on here knows that if they had the chance to get behind the wheel of this car they'd do it in a heartbeat. All this crap about the design of modern Ferrari models sucking and how the company needs to go back to it's roots is retarded. Ferrari is in the BUSINESS of making and selling cars. In any business the only way to get ahead and stay there is to constantly develop new ideas and to do it better and faster than your competition. If Ferrari sat around making the same old crap it would only be a matter of time before someone came along with a new idea that caught on and wiped Ferrari off the map. While some of the older Ferraris are beautiful to look at, they were designed using information and technology that is now horribly out of date. These new cars are designed with the mindset of form following function. Anyone that can't appreciate the fact that these new cars scream performance in their appearance alone needs to go take a physics class. Rice (rich or poor) is not Mugen, Ferrari....or any other knowledgeable tuning company increasing the performance of a car. Rice is exactly the opposite. It's the culture of idiots who slap accessories onto a car because they think it looks cool, while the "mods" actually do nothing for the car (or in most case even DECREASE performance) except maybe change the exhaust note and make the owner look aesthetically retarded. When you can design a cost effective vehicle for mass production (albeit on the more limited end of the scale) that can outperform this and is visually more appealing to all the different markets Ferrari competes in around the world, then you can get on the internet and talk crap about how they're doing it wrong.

Rice = All show, No go. Ferrari = GO. Period.
In order for any Ferrari to become a "r!cer" you've got to replace the exhaust system with a single 4-inch fart-cannon, add plastic ground effect kits, and a rear wing the size of a picnic table.
