Has any company tried buying the rights to this car? 'Cause that would be sweet if they started producing these again, just think with todays technology and aerodynamics... these machines would rip the road.

Delorean In houston have bought out the rights.
They refurbish but not produce new cars. They do say they are thinking about it though.

I agree, all they do now is produce upgrades for the DeLorean such as suspension, electrical, engine and appearance upgrades but I'm sure they won't upgrade to the point of creating a whole new DeLorean

The overall shape of the Delorean is good. If they tweaked with it a bit, improved build quality, it should be a hit.
When everything is coming your way, check what lane you're in.
