 this car in my oppinion should be band from the road and be placed in museum or private collections because imagine if your driving around in your car and you smash this car up. basically long story short you would be screwed big time. at about 8million usd a pop it is no toy

 Sure, that's a lot of fragile money the owner would be driving around, but they shouldn't ban it from the roads. It's perfectly street legal, it's only the driver's risk of damage. If someone smashes into you, they can't get anywhere near the cost of damage out of you, it would just be unconstitutional. If the owner takes his 8-15 million dollar car out on the road, s/he should have full knowledge that something might happen. If I had one, I would take it out on the town every now and then, but then again, I'm only 18 and any 18 year old would do that. ;)

 We wouldn't want to stain the windshield with the remains of an insignificant little bug, would we? You have to admit that if you pay $15 million for a car, you're not just going to let it collect dust forever. Cars are made to be driven, regardless of how valuable that car is I would take it out of the garage at least once a year. But that's just my opinion. Have a nice day.

 This incredible dream car should NOT be banned from the road. Would Enzo himself be proud to find that his masterpiece GT car, the perfect gentleman's racer, was stuffed up into a museum and put on display? Given, at least one of these magnificient machines should be properly restored in a museum for the world to see, but the rest should be out doing what they were designed for.

 No car should be banned from the road even the one that kenndy was shot in hell id drive that shit!! no no god would cast me straight to hell i believe that we should perseve one but i have no worrys becouse if you have a gto you will not be driveing on the free way most likely all the driveing that will be going on is country roads... im starting not to make sense ... whats the insurnce on one of these?
ultima can am, g50 trans, 13b rotary engine w a stage 6 upgrade of market parts good for 475 rwhp = 8 second street legal supercar that weighs 1700 pounds for a tad under 50 grand.

 Cars are meant to be driven. I can't stand these p***y collectors who buy cars, lock them up, and then only show them at classic car shows etc... IMHO, a collector is not an enthusiast. Enthusiasts like to drive their cars. If I owned one, I'd be at the track every opportunity I had running the car hard like it was meant to be run. Who the hell finds joy in staring at a car sitting in their garage? The real pleasure in owning a fine piece of automotive history is found while revving the motor and snicking the shifter through the gears. Some people just don't get it. Why would anyone drop 7 or 8 figures to watch a car collect dust?

 Granted, most cars go faster 0-60 than 6, especially a V-12, but this old car would beat most weekend racers that you see everyone have. Ferrari was sure ahead of it's time when it produced this model.

 That wasn't a 250 GTO in Ferris Beuler. I think it was '64 250 Daytona or something like that, but it definitely wasn't a GTO, replica or not. (don't quote me on what it actually was because all i know is that it wasn't a GTO)

 I agree. If someone doesn't want a certain to get damaged then DON'T BUY IT!! To keep one of the most beautiful and significant cars of all time locked up would be like de-clawing a tiger, amputating the legs of a cheetah, or crapping on the Mona Lisa. People who own cars like this but do not drive them should be releived of their burden. I just can't understand how someone would not be constantly drawn into this car and forced to at least cruise around. They don't have to race it or take it to track days, but it must be driven...

A similar situation exists with the owner of one of the two 1969 Chevrolet Corvette ZL-1s. He paid around 350,000 dollars for the car that has the most powerful engine ever put in an american production car (conservative factory estimates were around 585 hp, but that was below redline with more restrictive headers on) and the man has NEVER DRIVEN IT!! NOT ONCE!! I can't remember this wankers name, but someday i'm going to steal his car and probably kick his ass. The same should be done to any person who owns a car like a 250 GTO, ZL-1, or any great car and does not drive it.

 I agree,If I had this masterpiece I would drive it,not abuse it but drive it.I would just try to avoid going out in rush hour traffic and shit like that,but on weekends or evenings when traffic dies down I see no harm
in cruising in this masterpiece.Or atleast tow it to a track(if too pussy to drive it in traffic on road)and let it rip there or something,this beauty was made to be driven judging by it's Lemans' win n' such.

 A garage is a prison for cars. The open road is the only place a car can be free and live and flourish in it's natural environment like a wolf roaming a hillside or an eagle soaring through the air. Locking it up would kill it's soul and should be a crime. Would you want to live the rest of your life in a prison simply if it would extend your life for a short time. I know i wouldn't. The saying LIVE FREE OR DIE seems to apply well here. Ferrari's should all be driven regulary.

 First things first, if the insurance company agrees to insure the car, thats their own fault. Also, with cars of this value, a major crash will only affect the value of the car slightly beacuse they cost $10 million but a ground up restoration will cost $1 million max.
