 Comparing this car to a Diablo is like comparing apples and oranges. The Diablo is a raw testosterone-pumping thrill machine. The Maranello is a high-speed sportscar that delivers comfort and luxury and everyday driving ability combined with great performance. So the Ferrari and the Lamborghini acheive the same end, but the means are much different. While even a 1991 Diablo is nearly as quick as the Maranello in a straight line, it cannot match the Maranello's handling, braking, or comfort. As for the newer Diablos and the Murcielago, they are definitely faster, but they also cost considerably more.

 Just out of the blue,
This goes out to all of you "I'm the bigggggest lamborgini fan in the world!!!!" kinda persons.
First of all, learn how to write it.
Second, when Ferrucio Lamborghini created the Miura, he did it because he didn't like Enzo Ferraris way of building cars.
Take a look at the Lamborghini Countach. Almost impossible to drive, windows you couldn’t look out of and not the slightest comfortable. Then look at the Ferrari 512 BB. A car you could actually drive, it didn't look so flashy, it wasn't that aggressive, but look, big windows, a back windshield....

Get my point?

 Lamborghini has never been known for its practicality, niether has Ferrari. You cant shop in either, ...cant really do much else but drive in either, not a bad thing at all considering they're two of the best companies in the world.As for saying the Diablo is a worse handler than a Maranello, they are relatively the same, and the Diablo out-brakes the Maranello aswell.How can u say thay are like comparing apples and oranges, they produce their cars within throwing distance of each other, they are both italien manufacturers, they are both competeing in the same market, they ar both sleek, fast and agile,.... i guess comparing this Maranello to a ford would be more proper.......right.

 Why do people think this is some revolution in automobiles.Ferrari re-vamped the engine and transmission of their flagship model, thats all. With all these "amazing" modifications its still sluggish for a supercar, 4.1 seconds isnt that great, and niether is the top speed. The 1990 Lamborghini Diablo has the same top speed as this car, so lamborghini was on even terms with this car 12 years ago.

I'm not sure if you've realized, but the F50 is Ferrari's flagship.
They've improved this car by quit a bit.

since it was done 12 years ago, for a car to just match that now is slow for a supercar.

 You donŽt know anything about Ferrari. Ferrari is not trying to build the fastest car in the world with the Maranello. And for sure, they donŽt want to build a super futuristic uncomfortable UFO-look muscle car like it is common in this days. Whant we have here, is a street Ferrari. That simple. And if you guys donŽt have the sence to feel whatŽs behind the whole concept of the Maranello, sorry for you.

And please, thereŽs no use to compare a Lamborghini with the Maranello.

you really know what you are talking about. And please, for all of you people out there who dont know anything about ferrari. this 575M is just a stepping stone to the new car which is said to be released in 2003 if i'm not mistaking. it should use a downgraded v12 from the f60. if you wanna talk about speed try looking for info on the f60. 0-60in 2.5 seconds. i will say no more.

 I must say that some members here are stupid...
If the Diablo as to be compared to , it's to a F40 or F50 (and soon 60).

Moreover the diablo is nearly twice the price of a F575M , and TVR has 800 HP with its V12.So the diablo isn't as incredible as some think.
And don't try to use the Diablo as a all days car , it's simply impossible.I've seen some in Monaco , it's so funny to see people trying to park this car !
So F575M is better , more balanced car.

 It's not slow for today. Think about Lamborghini Diablo now. The 2001 Lamborghini Diablo 6.0 has maximum speed of 325km/h. They didn't evolve much either. And besides, who drives cars at 325km/h except if used for racing reasons. So, there's no point in saying this car is slow. If this car is slow, what about Japanese Cars which are drag liimited to 155MPH? IS that slow? Think what would happen to you if you really did drive this car 325km/h. These guys at supercars.net should make chat rooms. Wouldn't tha be awesome?

 steinamyte.......between the lambo and the ferrari.....the lambos more powerful hands down....faster accel, hands down.....faster top speed hands down.

but, think. whats the murcs top speed? about 205? thats not that much faster than 202.

acceleration....granted for a car thats got a metal shift gate, 3.8 (or so) is fast compared to a car with paddles that does 4.1
but this website posted posted 4.1 or 3.9 for the GT2 when Road and Track did it in 3.6.....so the posted 4.1 of this car isn't marked on stone.

also, the lambos got the 4 wheels turnin, that kinda helps ur launch, not to mention more power.

the ferrais way more comfy...

so i think you get ALOT for a car even if the murc is abit faster.

this was never meant to be a SUPERCAR its elegant and luxorious as well as fast, for all the stuff it gives you id say its a pretty good deal

 I have both 2001 diablo 6.0 VT, and 575 F1, 911 C2 2002

Personally,

When do I drive

- diablo : wanna get attention, mine is yellow, so it's very good to get attention when I drive this car on the street. Although this car has a lots of power, it's good to drive very slowly, so I can get attention more, and more. Usually, weekly drive... Not for speeding, just get pleasure on the street by atentioning people

- 575 : just daily drive car, but still hard parking because front is to low like diablo, actually, it's almost same as diablo when I adjust front suspension height on diablo. Sucking when drive slowly, F1 shift is not comfortable as general auto shift.

Selling price,

- diablo : when I bought this car[2001] this year[2002], I paid for around 300 grand inculde TAX etc..., it's brand new, there's some discount for the past year. but, about 9 month later, and milege is almost 6000, the selling price kill me. I was surprise, no almost shocked.. when I get the selling price from my dealer... they said, they could give me 170 grand... reason.. what they said is there's no one who would buy this car.... or not too many people who would be interested in the car... huhu.. I lost about 130 grand for only 9 months.. what a shock... so, I decided that I will keep this car and inherit to my son, and grand son and so on...

- 575 F1 : I paid for about 250 grand, about 1 month ago, someone in Beverly hills in LA offered me sticker price to buy if I want to sell it.. now.. well, some dealer in LA offered me about 200 grand. now 575 milege is almost 5000.. When I bought this car, my dealder said that buying ferrari is good investment. well I don't know, but it's surely better used-car market price than diablo.. but both are still loosing too much money if I sell it.

Because I've got new baby[first] 3 month ago, I was planning to sell one of these, and get 4 seaters comfortable car like Mercedes. but I have still two of them, because I will lose too much money if I trade or just sell.. I haven't decided yet.. and using 911 C2 as 4 seats car... too small space back seats, and extreamely NOT NOT comfortable...


Well.. overall, I feel a little bit better for 575 because it's more confortable than diablo.
