This car is great because it performs so well, but there are a couple of things wrong with it: the supercharger and the sequential gearbox.
Since this car is meant to go directly against the McLaren F1, I think it's fair to make a comparison. The supercharger decreases responsiveness, not as much as a turbo would, but still a significant decrease. It's kinda sad that in order to get the same power-weight ratio as the McLaren, Koenigsegg had to take a smaller engine and supercharge it; couldn't they have used the better materials we have available today to lose the weight? Also, they should have used Murray's center driving position idea...it's so cool!
Again in comparison to the F1, the sequential is a detractor from this car. They had to use a transmission that can switch gears in 1/20th the time of a manual to get the same acceleration results (not 0-60, that's all in 1st). It just seems like they needed another shortcut to match the F1's performance, and I'm not impressed.
If they could have made a car on par with the F1 without the supercharger and without the sequential gearbox, I would have been impressed, but they didn't. They couldn't match Gordan Murray's engineering ability, so they cut corners and sacrificed two important things: engine responsiveness and driving experience. I still say the F1 is the best production roadcar ever.

Thats great to hear mate but i dunno about it being such a downfall. I mean really the central driving possition is great "for racing" but im pretty sure that the 2 seater isnt that bad, i mean if it was such a great idea for road cars (which im sure it is) but why arnt there any more on the roads now?
also putting a sequential gear box in isnt cutting corners, if the didnt put one in you would most probably be complaining wondering why they didnt put it in.
hey its a great car, just love it and stop being so harsh and picky

First a supercharger does have a slight lag, but you will not notice it. Second, have you ever driven a seqential transmission, they are fun, just slam that lever. It is quicker, that is why they are using it, you dont see them using concrete floorpan so the performance is closer to a McLaren. They took every advantage they could get, and that is how you get great performace. I also believe they are offering a normal h-patern shifter. This car is not a direct competitor to the F1, it is more of a F50 competitor. The F1 is the ultimate drivers car for the road, this car seems like the ultimate track car. I love this car it does seem like great car, but is not an F1. The only thing i dont really like is that the engine is not NA, and does not rev that high. Hopefully the flat 12 will fix that.
Would you like to see my economic stimulus package?

Excellent point! Lancia, name me one other production supercar that could compete with the CC at a cost of $300,000. Oh and you shouldn't be bitter about the sequential gear box because the 2002 Koenigsegg comes with the choice of sequential or manual transmittion. And in a couple months when they "officially" test this baby, it will raise the bar and break the F1's record in top speed and acceleration. :]

LOL. Lancia, just learn to accept a car for what it is. Just because the Koenigsegg CC might be faster than the McLaren F1, and significantly cheaper doesn't mean you have to diss the CC.
Saying that since it has a sequencial gearbox is unfair because it will allow quicker acceleration is the most retarded thing I've ever heard. Its like saying since the Koenigsegg has more power, its not fair. Or if it has bigger tires, its not fair. Or, if the car is lighter, its not fair. Thats pretty sad.
Learn to appreciate the car. Just because you think the McLaren F1 is the greatest road car ever doesn't mean you have to persuade others to think that to by degrading the Koenigsegg CC. Grow up.

Try the Saleen S7 or the Murcielago or the F50...sure, they're not exactly $300k, but close enough and they all offer different things: S7-great track performance, Murcielago-great style and road maners, F50-great handling and refinement.
For all you guys bitching about my opinions, let me tell you something. Superchargers are no good because they rob you of top end power. That means your rev range is decreased, which decreases the versatility of the car (your gear options are more limited.) The best forced induction layout is to have your engine supercharged AND turbocharged...like in the Lancia Delta S4 group B...
The sequential is not as involving as a manual. You don't have the same control, even if you can precisely select gears. You sacrifice involvement for performance, something that I see as unacceptable. The whole point of a sports car is to invigorate the driver; the whole point of a race car is to lap a given track as quickly as possible. This, therefore, is a race car. As a race car, however, it gets blown away, even by other street-legal racers like the S7.

Yeah, the Cerbera Speed 12 would crush this car. And it costs even less. 800 horsepower at 2205 pounds. Thats 150 more horsepower and even 200 pounds lighter weight. The Koenigsegg CC wouldn't stand a chance.

The Mclaren F1 Road car does not hold the street legal top speed record. The Callaway Sledgehammer does, even beating a purpose built Salt falt Jun Supra (street legal with the exchange of a front bumper.) The Mclaren F1 road car would do better off the line then the Koenigsegg because it's not sequential. With non-sequential you can launch the car at the start with the use of the clucth. The Mclaren F1's center driving in the road car handicaped the road car's cornering abilities, .86g on the skid pad while the Koenigsegg CC pulls 1.15g( even an Acura Integra pulls a .92g and it's front wheel drive).
Cost not being counted. The Mclaren F1 is one of the greatest stock production cars there will ever be. If you really wanted you could lower the compression ratio down to 10:1 instead of 13:1 and add two T-56 garret turbos on it and go even faster after changing the gear ratio. Look at the older Race cars such as 80's Lemans and F1's. Street legal cars don't nessecarily have as strict of air regulations as Race cars, hence why some street cars have more horsepower from the factory then the company's racing cars(TVR Speed 12 street:800hp, Racing meeting FIA air regulator restrictions: 650hp).

Then, if the F1 racecars have a sequential 7-speed transmission, do you see it as "unacceptable" because it's not a manual 7-speed transmission? That's some kind of narrow minded way of think, and maybe it's your own "taboo", the way you think about sequentials.
Also, for turbocharge and supercharge at the same time, you must have got some big bucks, because that costs money, and a lot. Oh, and don't complaint about the way that people of koening makes a powerful engine, just because you see as unfair that a supercharged car IS beating the F1, is not a reason to judge it as a "cheaty" car or something. If you wanna see some N/A real power from Koenigsegg, then go and see the CC concept. Making 550+ h/p with only 3.8 liters. Turbo?: Koening C62 have 2 of them.

This cills the S7 round a track. Tha Zonda does and this beats the Zonda. And the Mucielago and F50 arn't up to the F1's atandards either. Look at the performance of each one and this and the F1 are way above everything else thats a production car.
