At their 2009 Scottsdale Auction, Barrett-Jackson sold the sole Blackhawk Concept as part of the GM Heritage Collection. It was described as “The Buick Blackhawk is a hand-built custom 2+2 convertible developed to celebrate Buick’s 100 year anniversary in 2003. The Blackhawk is built from a variety of modified 1939-1986 Buick components and panels. A power retractable carbon fiber top is stored inside the deck lid. The interior is custom hand fabricated using many 1996 Riviera components. Powered by a 1970 vintage 455cid Buick GS Stage III V8 engine that is naturally aspirated with an overhead valve and Fuel Injected to produce 463 horsepower at 4600 rpm and 510 lb/ft of torque at 4200 rpm. The engine is mated to a 4L80E 4-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission. The body is steel with a carbon fiber top. Also features independent front and rear suspension, Z rated P295/35R 18″ front tires and Z rated P295/45R 18″ rear tires.”
