2000→2002 Rolls-Royce Corniche V

The fifth generation Corniche was the last Rolls-Royce convertible crafted by the artisans in Crewe. At the time it was one of the most expensive vehicles at $359,900 USD and was also the flagship for Rolls-Royce.

The Corniche was the only model developed by Rolls-Royce under Volkswagen’s ownership. It used styling cues from the Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph, but was built on the Bentley Azure chassis with its 6.75 liter V8. This engine was renowned for it’s monstrous torque, 544 ft lbs at 2,100 rpm.

The car was built only for luxury and weighs a hefty 6836 lbs. To deal with this weight a computerized automatic ride control provided computer control of the suspension dampers to optimize ride comfort and handling. Adaptive shifting also modifies the gear change response to the driver’s style.

Inside, the car was treated to a fully lined and insulated soft top roof for maximum comfort.

The car was built from 2000–2002 and a total of 374 were produced.
