With massive support from spectators, manufacturers and collectors, the Mille Miglia historic rally is essential. Passing through the picturesque countryside and old Italian cities, the modern Mille Miglia captures the essence of its former glory. Even with modern technology, just finishing the 1500 km journey in a classic car is victory enough.

For 2010 the organizers did a fantastic job of finding 375 cars that would best represent the race. Like last year the large number of OSCA MT4s, Cisitalia 202s and Alfa Romeo 1750s was impressive. By far the most common car was the Mercedes-Benz 300SL, but the entry list ranged from Fiat 500s to one-of Ferraris. Each car had its own intrinsic value and many aren’t seen outside Italy.

Dirk de Jager followed the entirety of the Mille Miglia from Brescia to Rome and back. We have assembled a huge gallery of the event which features at least every car on the start ramp in order of race number. Furthermore, due to the breadth of coverage (1000+ pics) we have enabled the keyboard arrows on all the galleries. Enjoy.
