In September 1938 it was surprisingly announced that a 1.5 formula would be introduced in Tripoli. The dreaded competitors from Germany had no cars with this engine capacity, but they took up the challenge, and within only 8 months built a car which was first over the finishing line again. -- DaimlerChrysler
