It is the best-selling car in and from Germany: statistically, during each day from the last 29 years, 2,100 people decided to buy a VW Golf. Therefore, for the designers and the engineers of Abt Sportsline, the bestseller from Wolfsburg has been the most popular tuning platform since its arrival in 1974. After three decades of experience, Abt have created a new Golf, Abt VS4.

The hunt for more power: after a new detailed reprogramming of the engine management, the four-cylinder turbo diesel engine has an output of 170 bhp (125 kW) instead of the regular 140 bhp (102 kW). This upgrade has been achieved with enormous experience built up at Abt. By modifying the computer data, the Abt Golf VS4 not only gets more power, but also a higher torque curve and a more throttle response.

The silhouette of the VW Golf, that already is muscular by itself, is being emphasized by discreet bodywork parts from Kempten. The Abt front grille and the front spoiler extension underline the sporty theme as does the Abt side skirts as well as the rear wing and the rear skirt. The distinguished section, with an individual exhaust note by Abt Sportsline, is rounded off by an exhaust silencer with four pipes.

With a height-adjustable spring suspension, the Abt Golf VS4 is safe and sporting. The Abt sports ninteen inch SP1 wheels provide optimal contact to the asphalt. This five-spoke design, having their wheel rim bed inclining to the inside, have been fitted with 235/35 R19 ContiSportContact tyres. For safety, handling and critical situations, an Abt sports brake system is included with steel flex brake lines.
