2006 Donkervoort D8 RS06
This new Donkervoort, which was revealed at the Tuner GP does not have the external characteristics of a standard Donkervoort. At the event it was driven to a time of 1.04,765 minutes by racing driver, Michael Düchting, who scored drove the fastest lap on the legendary Hockenheim circuit.
On this car made particularly for the Tuner GP, more eneloping cycle wings replace the standard wings and the car now has the stance of a more modern race car.
Joop Donkervoort states ''We have seized the opportunity to test whether these longer wings would result in better aerodynamics for the Tuner GP. I am extremely satisfied about the result. Of course it is special that we could immediately claim victory with the car.''
Futhermore he explained ''It was purely a prototype with which we wanted to assess our chances. A victory like this indicates that there is much more potential to the car. It promises a lot for the future!''.
