In 1960 Jaguar upgraded their XK engine to have a displacement of 3781 cc. This was achieved by increasing the bore and offered 220 bhp over the standard 190 bhp 3.4.

Like the previous model, an optional Special Equipment Model was available which used the B-Type cylinder head and twin SU HD6 carburetors. Other refinements included wire wheels, dual exhuast, windscreen washers. Above and beyond the SE model was the S-Type which used a straight-port cylinder head and three HD8 SU carburetors for 265 bhp @ 5500 rpm.

According to its JDHT Certificate, this 1959 XK150 was built on 1 October 1959, finished in Cream with a Tan interior, and was outfitted with an automatic transmission. It was then shipped to Jaguar Cars New York, where it was delivered new to a Peggy Paige Walton. Today, the car is believed to have had just four owners since new, and it is in splendid mechanical and cosmetic condition. The car was the subject of a full, comprehensive, and photographically documented restoration, in which the paint and interior were restored to their original specification. It has accumulated just 325 miles since the restoration was completed in 2007 and has been very well maintained by its current owner since. Auction Source: 2014 Monaco by RM Auctions

Finished in British Racing Green with green leather upholstery, this very nicely presented right-hand drive, 3.8-litre XK150 S Fixed-Head Coupé is one of just 150 built and benefits from a complete inside and outside refurbishment completed in 2002, which included new leather and trim, with much of the brightwork restored as well. During the restoration, the engine was removed, completely stripped and cleaned. It was rebuilt by XRN in Bracknell, Berkshire, who re-bored the cylinder block, reground the camshafts and added a new oil pump, timing chain and rear oil thrower. Auction Source: 2011 Salon Privé Auction by RM
