Today Audi released details of their RS 6 Avant just in time for the holiday ski season in the French Alps.
Not surprisingly, the new model keeps the S6's 4.0 TFSI engine, but with extensive modifications to produce 560 bhp. Numerous environmental features such as cylinder deactivation help the RS 6 achieve a somewhat regular fuel consumption with 560 available bhp.
One of the more interesting options is the quattro front grill that is unique to this model.
As early as 1961 APAL was creating some of the first fibreglass-bodied cars in Europe and their Porsche coupe was a rare variant made for racing.
As little as 30 APAL Porsche's were made and they far exceeded the performance capability of the better known 1960 Porsche Abarth 356B Carrera GTL.
Being somewhat limited on information due to a factory fire in 1969, we have pieced together as much as we can on the Porsche-APAL story. If you can contribute in any way let us know.
