Today Jaguar released details of their C-X75 Prototype which was developed by Williams as a possible production car.
The aborted project uses a turbocharged 1.6 liter engine in conjunction with two inline electric engines to produce over 850 bhp.
Jaguar first revealed the C-X75 at the 2010 Paris Motor Show as a prototype that could be produced to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Jaguar.
That means the C-X75 could have been a logical successor to the XJ220 which was the fastest production car in the world for a short time.
Mixed emotions made it an unforgettable Le Mans this year.
Just 10 minutes into the race, Allan Simonsen was avoiding a spinning Ferrari when he lost control of this own Aston Martin and fatally hit the wall at Tertre Rouge.
Overall winner Tom Kristensen didn't dedicate the race to his late father, but he said “This victory today I dedicate to Allan Simonsen, a great fellow Dane.”
The Audi victory was hard fought. And they did so in front of 245,000 spectators.
IN LMGTE Pro, Porsche Team Manthey took their 991 RSR to victory for the 50th anniversary of the 911. The #91 car of Jörg Bergmeister, Timo Bernhard and Patrick Pilet was one lap ahead of their sister #91 car which placed 2nd.

Today Aston released the Vanquish Volante as the ultimate roadster. This new car is the first Volante in Aston's history to use an all carbon fiber body.
This release comes as Aston Martin is preparing their 5-car assault on Le Mans with the 2013 Aston Martin Vantage GTE against the factory Vipers, Porsches and Ferraris this weekend.
Not too long ago Aston Martin also revealed the V12 Vantage S which replaces the previous model. The updated model has 565 bhp and a new 7-speed transaxle.
Today Porsche are releasing the first tidbits on their LMP1 program which should be in full swing next season.
The new car will face off directly with Toyota and Audi for top honors. “We are well on schedule” says Porsche. Test drivers Timo Bernhard and Romain Dumas seem pleased too.
