Audi Win SPA24

Brace of Audis at the Finish

Last weekend Andrea Piccini, Rene Rast and Frank Stippler won the 24 Hours of SPA with their Audi Sport Performance cars Team Phoenix 2012 Audi R8 LMS ultra.

The leaders were followed by a Belgian Audi Club Team WRT which was essentially another one of the four factory Audis.

Our feature gallery from SPA features the top 10 finishers at the top of the page with the remaining field down below. Included are some shots of torrential rain which would normally red flag other events.

Audi's New R8

2013 Audi R8 V10 plus

For the end of 2012, Audi are releasing an updated R8 lineup with distinct LED lights, a 7-speed automatic transmission and minor body updates.

Audi will now have the Audi R8 V10 plus at the top of their range which has optional matte paint and every available option.

All the new models are named after their engine type unlike the earlier cars which are known for their engine displacements. Apart from the lights, the new versions are easily identified by their large single tailpipe on each side.

Le Mans Classic

Class 6 in the rain.

Today we have an impressive collection of photographs that document almost all the 450 cars that raced in one of six different races at Le Mans Classic.

Some impressive Porsches debuted at this year's edition including the 935/78 'Moby Dick' and the Porsche 917 Kurzheck in hippy colors.

2012 was hampered by sporadic rain which made conditions tricky around the enormous Circuit de la Sarthe. Our photographer Luc Ghys endured the Classic for our feature gallery.

Le Mans Classic was also a stop for the Ferrari 250 GTO 50th anniversary tour. Taking part was the Bardinon family's GTO ’64 5573GT which was last seen in public 10 years ago.

Camaro 1LE

2013 Camaro 1LE

Chevrolet are announcing the 1LE performance package for both the stripped-out 1SS and the 2SS Equipment Group Camaros.

These are based on the SEMA show car from last year, but they do not feature the expensive magnetic ride control from the ZL1.

The LE1 is an homage to a limited series of road/race Camaros built in 1998 for the Players Challenge.

Porsche 917 Headlines Mecum Monterey

L&M Porsche+Audi 917/10

For their upcoming Monterey sale, Mecum Auctions have an impressive offering of Porsches including the 1972 Can-Am winner.

This 917/10 is the most famous of its kind after winning the championship in the hands of George Follmer for Penske.

Described as one of the most important Porsches in the company's long history, the L&M Porsche+Audi 917/10 will be one of the top lots in Monterey next month and it could become the top selling Porsche of all time.

Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster

The new car is quite similar to the V12 Coupe except it's equipped with a larger rear spoiler to aid aerodynamics.

Over the weekend Mercedes-Benz took the opportunity to release their CLS AMG Shooting Brake which uses the familiar C 63 platform in a wagon body.
