2.0-litre (1964–1969)
The first 911 cars set the formula we all know and love. Read mounted air-cooled flat 6 boxer engine. The original 911s had a 2.0 liter unit that produced 129hp. In 1967, Porsche introduced the 160 hp 911S model with its now familiar Fuchs wheels. This was the era where we also saw the first Targa model. Porsche introduced the 911T in 1967 and renamed the “normal” 911 into the 911L. Finally, the 911R was released, a sporty model that had weight reduced with things like aluminum doors and a magnesium crankcase. The round out its sporty nature the motor was upgraded to 210 hp. With only 20 cars made it is really rate. In 1969, the slightly lengthened B series was introduced. Fuel injection arrived both for the 911S and a new middle model, the 911E.
