Gordon McCall’s Motorworks Revival 2012<\/h1>\n

Held August 15th at the Monterey Jet Center in Monterey, California, USA. Featured the North American premier of the Aston Martin V12 Vanquish<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 2012\u00a0Monterey Car Week<\/a> glamour has officially begun with the 2012\u00a0Gordon McCall\u2019s Motorworks Revival<\/a>.\u00a0For many, the\u00a0McCall Motorworks Revival<\/a> at The Jet Center<\/a>\u00a0marks the real start of Monterey Car Week<\/a>. With exotics, hypercars,\u00a0private jets, military aircraft and even amphibious vehicles\u00a0this is\u00a0a scene you need to experience at least once.<\/p>\n

Prominent brands included Pagani<\/a>, Aston Martin<\/a>, Ferrari<\/a>, Koenigsegg<\/a>, Lamborghini<\/a>, Lotus<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Maserati<\/a>. That of course doesn’t include the\u00a0Embraer, Gulfstream and Tempus Jets teams that were on show with their high-end jets for the ultra-rich.<\/p>\n

We mentioned earlier that\u00a0Aston Martin<\/a>\u00a0made the U.S debut of their\u00a0all-new Vanquish<\/a> for the first time. There was a cool version of the car that showed the\u00a0sophisticated and very light chassis, where you could see the naked\u00a0aluminium structure.<\/p>\n

Lamborghini<\/a> also had a strong presence\u00a0with their Urus SUV, two limited edition Gallardos and the crazy\u00a0Sesto Elemento<\/a>. Hennessey’s latest Venom GT<\/a> was also around. Taking centre stage on the tarmac was Lexus with a large display that included the LF-A sports car<\/a> and the latest generation LS.<\/p>\n

The recent passing of Carroll Shelby and the 50th anniversary anniversary of his Cobra was also marked at the Motorworks Revival<\/a>. In a nice touch, the very last car to arrive was the original Cobra prototype, which had always been part of the late Carroll Shelby’s private collection.<\/p>\n
