Ford GT40, Corvette L88, Mustang 429 and Shelby Cobra are pretty obvious contenders for the term Greatest American Supercar, but how about the 1906 Locomobile or the 1909 ALCO?<\/p>\n

It’s these early, turn of the century American race cars which won the Vanderbuilt Cup Races, the most important race in America in the pre-WW1 era.<\/p>\n

We were turned onto the Locomobile by aficionado David Greenlees of The Old Motor. He rode in the car as a toddler and has a permanent affection for the car.<\/p>\n

As a tribute to the Locomobile we have prepared a page of images that show the car in many different lights.<\/p>\n
