1946 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible Coupe<\/h1>\n

In 1946, Cadillac was finished with war-time production and began selling motor cars with a great demand and short supply. One of the main draws to this series was the only available cabriolet bodystyle of 1946 and 1947. <\/span><\/p>\n

When Cadillac restyled the model before WWII it was already quite successful so the factory picked up production in early October 1945 right where they left off.<\/p>\n

A few things were changed for the first post-war Series 62 including shape and location of the driving lights, slightly changed bumpers and a new front logo which placed the Cadillac crest in a large V.<\/p>\n

All Series 62 cars were powered by Cadillac’s L-head V8 which was capable of 150 hp. A Hydra-Matic automatic transmission was available as an option. These were similar to the units used to power the Light Tank M24 during the war.<\/p>\n

Available as a Club Coupe, Convertible Coupe or Sedan. The Series 62 was sold alongside the larger Series 75 intended for Business and the entry level Series 61. By 1948 all these models got a complete makeover and the third generation Series 62 was released.<\/p>\n

1946 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible Coupe<\/a> – \u00a0<\/b>This Series 62 Convertible Coupe benefits from a body-off, nut-and-bolt restoration that was completed over a 25-year period through to 2007. With just over 2,000 miles traveled since the restoration was completed, including trouble-free use in a CCCA CARavan, the Cadillac retains its original engine and remains excellent throughout.
