For the Internation Race of Champions (IROC) event, 15 Camaros were built by team of Penske Racing. Identical cars were driven by drivers such as George Follmer, A. J. Foyt, Bobby Unser, Richard Petty, Bobby Allison, David Pearson, Emerson Fittipaldi, Graham Hill, Cale Yarborough, Ronnie Peterson, Johnny Rutherford and Jody Scheckter.<\/span><\/p>\n

Penske gutted all the cars and fitted all the necessary safety equipment including a roll cage, racing seat and basic dashboard. Engines were supplied by Traco Engineering and rated at 450 bhp.<\/p>\n

1974 Chevrolet Camaro IROC Race Car<\/a> – sold for \u20ac105,600<\/b> Offered in meticulously restored condition as it was before it took to the tracks, its gleaming black paintwork and graphics have been painstakingly replicated. The full rotisserie restoration included every nut and bolt. Nothing escaped a complete rebuild. New fenders and panels were fitted in an effort to bring back the like new condition. The interior was redone in grey just like it was in 1974 with all the correct instrumentation.

1977 Chevrolet Camaro IROC Race Car<\/a> – sold for $49,500<\/b> In 1977, fifteen cars were built, with this one being the fourteenth Camaro constructed for IROC racing and also for the second series of the International Race of Champions. The chassis was constructed by the late Banjo Matthews in Ashville, North Carolina, before being sent north to Penske Racing in Reading, Pennsylvania to be completed. This was the twentieth IROC car built that year by Penske.
