2002 Berger Camaro 427 Phase III<\/h1>\n

Back in the year 2000, fourth-generation Berger president, Matt Berger, decided it was time to honor Chevrolet and the Berger dealership\u2019s long history of street and racetrack performance by building a few very limited, very special Camaros before production ended in 2002. A \u201cCOPO\u201d for the 21st Century! The result? Three model years (2000-2002) and a total of 104 Berger SS Camaros produced and sold to enthusiasts all over the USA. Berger also exclusively produced and sold thirty-seven Hot Rod Magazine Edition Camaros by Berger, twenty-eight 2002 ZL1 Camaros and thirty Dick Harrell Edition Supercars; all paying homage to the greatest Camaro of all time\u2026the 1969 ZL1. Only sixty-nine ZL1 Camaros were ever produced in model year 1969.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mecum Auction<\/h4>\n

At their 2010 Kissimmee, FL Auction sale, Mecum offered one of the 427 Berger Camaros but it failed to sell with a high bid of $70,000 USD. It was described as:<\/p>\n

The 2002 Berger Camaro SS marked the final year of original Camaro production with a powerful engine package, Hurst-shifted 6-speed manual, special suspension, Berger graphics and a host of other modifications that made it unlike any other Camaro on the street. Number 89 of the production run of 100 units, this Bright Red Berger SS was the first Berger SS to receive the 427 Phase III engine package. It comes with several extra features not seen on other Berger cars, including a full roll cage, 12-bolt Strange rear end, exclusive Penske shocks, frame connectors, line lock and electronic exhaust cutouts.<\/p>\n

Stored in an air conditioned garage, this very special Camaro SS has only 3,700 miles, most of which were accumulated when its original owner drove the car from Berger Chevrolet in Michigan to its home in Florida. It has been assiduously cared for and remains in immaculate original condition.<\/p>\n

*It is the first Berger SS car to get the Supercar 427 Phase III package
\n*Some extras that were included were the roll cage, 12 bolt Strange rear end, very rare custom Penske shocks (no other SS has these shocks), frame connectors, line lock, electronic cut out exhaust dump, plus many more goodies
\n*This car has almost all the same options as the ZL1, and almost identical to the ZL1
\n*Most of the ideas for the ZL1 came from the development of this car
\n*It is numbered 89 of 100, but in itself is very rare with the options<\/p>\n
