1953 Buick Skylark 76X<\/h1>\n

The limited-production Model 76X Skylark sat atop Buick\u2019s product line for 1953. The luxurious convertible not only took visual cues from Buick\u2019s exotic dream cars, it was the first Buick to be offered with V-8 power. With a modern grille, sweeping lines, cut-down doors, shortened windscreen, round wheel cutouts and chrome running the length of the car, the Skylark reflected the optimism and power of General Motors in the early 1950s, and the public greeted this all-new Skylark with the highest admiration.<\/span><\/p>\n

As though its lengthy list of standard features, styling, performance and $5,000 price were not exclusive enough, the fortunate original purchasers of the 1953 Skylark could have their name engraved on a gold-colored emblem placed within the steering wheel nub.<\/p>\n

1953 Buick Skylark Convertible<\/a> – sold for $101,750<\/b><\/p>\n

A concours-quality, ground-up restoration was recently completed on this exceptional Skylark, beginning with a sound and original car and a 1953 Skylark parts donor car. The restoration work was performed by two highly respected firms, namely the award-winning Larry Griffey\u2019s Hot Rods and Restorations of Knoxville, Tennessee and Jenkins Restoration and Interiors of North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, with the stunning results displayed here. Beautifully refinished in Reef Blue, the Skylark has a new white convertible top and boot, excellent restored brightwork, restored original Kelsey-Hayes 40-spoke chrome wire wheels with original restored spinners, and new period correct bias-ply wide whitewall tires from Coker Tire.<\/div>\n
