2005 Hongqi HQD Concept<\/h1>\n

This imposing Hongqi HQD concept is the most exciting Chinese car we have ever seen. It has a commanding presence and two of the most alien headlamps ever attached to a presidential limo.<\/span><\/p>\n

HQD was first shown at the 2005 Shang Hai Auto Show and follows a wave of indie releases from last year’s inaugural Auto China in Beijing. As an emerging market, it is refreshing to see China manufacture its own domestics; however, our feature car, and others like it, seem to borrow more than innovate. For instance, HQD concept has a sibling resemblance to the Rolls-Royce Phantom.<\/p>\n

Compared to the Phantom, the HQD is probably the more daring car. At 6.33m long and 2m wide, it is slightly larger than the long wheel base Phantom. This means, if Hongqi ever put the HQD into production, it would be the largest car on the market, and one that would most likely see legal action from Rolls Royce.<\/p>\n

Hongqi have yet to release any production details. But if released, Hongqi said the HQD would cost $300 000.<\/p>\n
