RM Auctions held its 2010 Collector Cars of Fort Lauderdale auction on March 26-28 at the Broward County Convention Center in Florida, posting $16 million in total sales and a 79% sales rate.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe combination of interested bidders in attendance, on the phone and over the Internet produced an exciting sale in Fort Lauderdale, with many lots surpassing their pre-sale estimates,\u201d said Donnie Gould, RM partner and 30-year veteran of the collector car market.<\/p>\n

RM once again represented automobiles from the estate of Mr. John M. O\u2019Quinn. A total of 138 O\u2019Quinn motor cars, all offered without reserve, crossed the block in Fort Lauderdale, representing $6,843,000 million in sales.<\/p>\n

The top-seller of the weekend was a well-documented and restored 1935 Auburn 851 SC Convertible Sedan, from the O\u2019Quinn estate, which brought $211,750. Other high sales include a 1931 Cadillac Model 370-A V12 Convertible Coupe for $209,000, 2008 Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 afor $209,000, 1954 Buick Skylark Convertible for $187,000, 1935 Packard Twelve Convertible Sedan, from the O\u2019Quinn estate, for $165,000 and 1969 Ford Boss 429 Mustang, from the O\u2019Quinn estate, for $151,250.<\/p>\n

RM Auctions offered 460 automobiles for sale, with 365 finding a new owner, reflecting an 79% sales rate. Total sales volume was $16,018,580, inclusive of buyer\u2019s premiums. The average price per car sold was $43,886.<\/p>\n

Up next on the RM calendar of events is the Classic Car Auction of Michigan April 24-25 at the Rock Financial Showplace in Novi \u2013 the Midwest\u2019s largest indoor auction. This event presents 300 plus motor cars, many offered without reserve, over the course of the two-day sale.<\/p>\n

The Michigan auction is followed closely by the inaugural Sporting Classics of Monaco<\/a> May 1 at the Grimaldi Forum and held during the same weekend as the 7th Grand Prix Historique de Monaco. An additional 12 automobiles from the O\u2019Quinn estate will be on offer in Monaco.<\/p>\n

RM is also set to drop the hammer on a private collection of muscle cars in San Diego, California on June 19. Billed Classic Muscle & Modern Performance<\/a>, the event will present over 80 examples from a prominent Southern California collector, all to be offered without reserve. From GTOs to Corvettes, Chevelles and Mustangs, the offering spans a variety of iconic Detroit muscle and represents the owner\u2019s lifelong passion for high-performance vehicles.<\/p>\n
