Maserati had\u00a0designed two new engines (four cylinder and V8).<\/p>\n<p>With\u00a0advanced new engines added to\u00a0a conventional steel ladder frame which was suspended all-round by solid axles and semi-elliptic leaf springs, the cars were strong performers. The four cylinder was fine, but the V8 caused\u00a0flexing problems.<\/p>\n<p>Maserati fixed the\u00a0rigidity issues and and the\u00a0modifications made a night and day difference.
