2007 Pescarolo 01<\/h1>\n

For 2007 Pescarolo announced they would become a manufacturer for both the LMP1 and LMP2 ACO Prototype classes. Simpy called the 01, it was a great design, but up against the might of Audi and Peugeot who were front runners in the LMP1 class.<\/span><\/p>\n

From 1994 to 1998 Henri Pescarolo managed the factory Courage Comp\u00e9tition cars. He continued afterwords as a private team, contesting the Le Mans Series and winning the Championship in 2005. The same was true of 2006, encouraging Pescarolo to being manufacture of their own LMP1 design.<\/p>\n

The 2007 Pescarolo, simply known as the ’01’ was built from the ground-up as a new car, but did evolve from the old Courage C60.<\/p>\n

Pescarolo campaigned two of their cars in 2007 and supplied LMP2 cars for Rollcentre Racing and Kruse Motorsport for the Le Mans Series. These cars were consistently the highest running gasoline-powered car, but typcially lagged by the diesel-powered Audi and Peugeots.<\/p>\n

In 2009, Pescarolo unveiled a new aero package for the LMP1 cars including a new nose, fenders, rear end and front winglets. This body appeared at the 3009 Le Mans Series Catalunya 1000 km and was two seconds faster per lap over the old 2007 car.<\/p>\n
