{"id":202515,"date":"2016-04-16T01:19:59","date_gmt":"2016-04-16T01:19:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.supercars.net\/blog\/?p=202515"},"modified":"2024-11-23T19:23:23","modified_gmt":"2024-11-23T19:23:23","slug":"1975-ferrari-365-gts4-michelotti-nart-spyder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.supercars.net\/blog\/1975-ferrari-365-gts4-michelotti-nart-spyder\/","title":{"rendered":"1975 Ferrari 365 GTS\/4 Michelotti NART Spyder"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>1975 Ferrari 365 GTS\/4 Michelotti NART Spyder<\/h1>\n<div class=\"copy-paste-block\">\n<p><span id=\"intelliTXT\">Known for creating many unique Ferraris included the coveted Spyder California, Luigi Chinetti commissioned this particularly odd rebody on an original 365 GTB\/4 Daytona Spyder. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>After being damaged during the filming of the movie &#8216;A Star is Born&#8217;, this Daytona Spyder was sold to Chinetti, who then had Giovanni Michelotti design a unique body for it. Despite being years out of production, the 365 was sent to Italy and recieved updated styling as well as a new interior.<\/p>\n<p>The end result is a clever mix of Ferrari 365 with Triumph TR7, and we mean that in the best way possible. While much of body inbweteen the wheels remains somewhat familar, both the front and rear are drasically different. Particularly the angular front which features popup headlights and a much more streamlined appearance. From head level, the huge intakes, nearly hidden by the thin integrated bumper, are subtle and the best part of the design. At the rear, the treatment isn&#8217;t quite as graceful, but fitting with the rest of the car.<\/p>\n<p>Inside a curious hue of dark brown is everywhere and the standard instruments are laid out in a fairly obvious pattern. For a clean look, the doors lost their A-pillars, and this means new glass is fitted which mates to the original fold-up top.<\/p>\n<p>Upon completition, the car was given the name NART to recognize Luigi Chenetti&#8217;s North American Racing Team and sent to the 1980 Turin Motor Show. Little did either party know at the time that this car would become the very last car designed by Giovanni Michelotti whos career was both long and prolific.<\/p>\n<p>After the show, the NART Spyder stayed in the States for a number of years before selling at auction in 2006 for $385,000 USD.<\/p>\n<h3><a
