2012 McLaren MP4-12C HS<\/h1>\n

In 2012 McLaren Special Vehicle Operations built five special edition cars called the High Speed or MP4-12C HS. These were built for and named by The Collection in Miami for sale to the US market.<\/span><\/p>\n

The main feature of these bespoke cars is a revised body and more power over the standard model. It is rumored that McLaren spent over $500,000 to get the new bumpers approved for sale in the US.<\/p>\n

Primary to the HS are revised front and rear bumpers that are inspired by the GT3 racecar. This includes side air extractors and louvers on the top of the front fenders.<\/p>\n

Under the hood McLaren has revised the V8 engine to produce 75 more bhp, but the number has not been confirmed.<\/p>\n

Only five examples of the High Speed were produced and sold to The Collection in Miami with no press or official release. Their first public appearance might be the 2012 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.<\/p>\n
