The styling is both dynamic and elegant, with an appreciably long front end and elegant rear proportions. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>Thanks to a combination of pure, clean lines, the body has a fluid design that combines a very steeply inclined windscreen with a glass roof &#8211; a feature that is now synonymous with the Peugeot brand. At the front a wide mouth is surrounded by chrome-plated beading and beautifully integrated headlamps.<\/p>\n<p>At the back, the dynamic design is enhanced by twin exhausts, LED-type rear lights and an opening rear window accommodated in a relatively upright tailgate. The 407 Elixir is designed to seat four people in comfort. The doors open to reveal an interior with no partition or rear parcel shelf, housing four identical, adjustable seats.<\/p>\n<p>The 407 Elixir is welcoming and user-friendly with dual zone air-conditioning and satellite navigation displayed on a 7-inch colour screen. The bright passenger compartment features impressive materials and light, high quality leather which is bordered at the top by aluminium inserts that run the length of the interior as far as each end of the fascia panel.<\/p>\n<p>Featuring pre-tensioning seat belts and with nine airbags, one of which is incorporated in the steering column to protect the drivers knees, the 407 Elixir is a very safe car.<\/p>\n<p>Power for the vehicle is provided by an all new 6 cylinder 2.7 litre HDi engine. This engine features the latest generation particulate emission filter, and generates 148kW with a maximum torque figure of 440 Nm. The transmission adopts a Tiptronic style sequential gearbox, with a gear lever allowing either 100% automatic operation or manual, sequential control over gear changes.<\/p>\n<p>Elixir has dual wishbone front suspension at the front and the latest generation multi-arm system at the rear &#8211; combined with a new Electronic Stability Program. This state of the art suspension technology offers high quality road holding and unrivalled comfort, ensuring genuine driving pleasure &#8211; a true Peugeot trademark.<\/p>\n<h4>Story by Automobiles
