2005 ForcedFed Elise Race 380<\/h1>\n

Now that the Lotus Elise has jumped the pond, and started to flourish in America, it is no surprise than some new tuning companies have popped up in the area. One such company is Forced Fed who have spent considerable time developing Turbo kits for the Mitsubishi Evolution and Subaru WRX, but now their attention is focused on the Elise.<\/span><\/p>\n

Built in a number of stages, the main components of the Forced Fed kit include a Garrett Turbo, a Stainless Tubular Manifold and a 3 Inch exhaust system. The first stage, running at $7800, offers 85 more horsepower thanks to 7psi boost from a Garrett GT28R turbocharger. There are no internal changes to the engine and the VVTL-i still kicks in about 6200 rpm.<\/p>\n

In Stage II, or Race 380 tune, ForcedFed use their ‘Long Block’ stroker crank, Crower rods, custom pistons, and a larger Garrett GT28\/71 Turbo. The first dark blue Elise to get this treatment was subject to Car and Driver’s Superfour challenge. The car placed 3rd, but only after some impressive times were laid down: 0-60 in 4.1 seconds and the quarter mile in 12.2.<\/p>\n

With the Race 380, ForcedFed also recommend their Ohlins double-adjustable coil-over shocks, SSR 17×7.5-inch forged-aluminum wheels and an Alcon 4-Pison front brake upgrade.<\/p>\n

When all is said and done, a fully equipped Sport 380 should retail for around $100 000 USD.<\/p>\n
