1953 Nash-Healey Le Mans Coupe<\/h1>\n

In 1953 Nash launched a Coupe version of their Roadster which was based off the Nash Ambassador Inline-6 and various components from the Airflyte sedan. Pininfarina were responsible for the body which was longer and made of aluminum instead of steel.<\/span><\/p>\n

Like the Roadster, the complete turn-key chassis was shipped to Italy and then fitted with a body and interior by Pininfarina. The body was made of aluminum with a steel top. Unique to the Coupe was the rear windows. In 1954 the rear window changed from a single to a three-piece unit to save costs.<\/p>\n

The engine was upgraded version up the Ambassador Inline-6 with a different camshaft and aluminum cylinder head which provided for a higher compression.<\/p>\n

Standard equipment included luxuries such as leather upholstery, a tachometer, a cigar lighter and ashtray.<\/p>\n

It has never had a complete restoration, but rather only a sympathetic mechanical and cosmetic restoration as required. Nicely finished in a rich red with a contrasting black roof, it is outfitted inside with equally attractive tan leather throughout, with three-abreast seating. Under the hood, the engine compartment has been sprayed a flat black and the Nash engine bears original detailing. Likewise, the trunk is clean and a new mat has been fitted.
