2002 Lamborghini Murci\u00e9lago Barchetta Concept<\/h1>\n

A year after we first saw the Murcielago at Frankfurt, Lamborghini have taken the next logical step towards a roadster version. While the Murcielago Barchetta is still in a conceptual form, without a doubt we will see a production version as early as this year’s Geneva Motor Show.<\/span><\/p>\n

What sets the Barchetta apart from its coupe counterpart is a number of aggressive styling elements including wheels and a new engine cover. Lamborghini hints this new styling may reflect the future of their design language still headed by Luc Donkerwolke.<\/p>\n

More subtle differences further distinguish the Barchetta Concept. Beneath the engine cover are new reinforcing braces to cope with the increased stress the roof would normally absorb. Inside, the roadster has streamlined seats and a chopped windscreen.<\/p>\n

Traditionally, Lamborghini have always offered their products in roadster form from the very first 1965 350 GTS. After that came Miura and its corresponding P400 Roadster Concept. Much like the Murcielago Barchetta, the Miura Roadster was a prototype, but sadly never saw production. Lets hope the new Barchetta doesn’t suffer the same fate.<\/p>\n
