1929 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Super Sport<\/h1>\n

In 1929, the 6C 1750 Super Sport was Alfa Romeo’s most potent racing model. It was highly successful, winning the 1929 Mille Miglia outright and almost every other major race that year.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 6C 1750 benefited from the engineering of Vittorio Jano who first introduced the series in 1928 with the 6C 1500 Sport. Very few of those were fitted with superchargers, but based on their success many more supercharged 1750s were produced.<\/p>\n

Highlighting the model was a double-overhead camshaft inline-6 with a root-type supercharger and Memini race carburetors. This was fitted in a short 2.75mn chassis with lightweight bodywork typically by Touring or Zagato.<\/p>\n

In sports car racing the 6C was unstoppable. It won the Mille Miglia, Tourist Trophy and sports car races at SPA and Monza.<\/p>\n

made only in 1929, the Super Sport was produced in three distinct series before being replaced in 1930 by the 4th-series 6C 1750 Gran Sport.<\/p>\n
