That first car was immediately put into competition as a road-going version of the J2 race cars.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The K2 came standard with a Ford V8, but Chrysler, Mercury and Oldsmobile were also fitted. The current owner acquired it in August 2006, with the K2 having already been restored, and it has been regularly exercised since then. When a Texan purchased it in 1980 from a California enthusiast, it was understood that this K2 had some past West Coast racing history.
